As an academic specialist, I offer personalized, data-driven learning sessions designed to meet the unique needs of each student. With 11 years of classroom teaching experience and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, my approach ensures that every child receives the individualized attention and support they deserve. As a Board-Certified Classroom Teacher, I bring proven teaching methods and a deep understanding of child development to every session. My background in Curriculum and Instruction means that I can design targeted lessons that align with educational standards while addressing your child’s individual strengths and challenges.

  • Meet and greet at an agreed upon location (ideally where sessions will be held)

  • 1:1 Pre-Assessment for Reading and/or Math to provide the most current data from your child’s learning

    *A consultation meeting does NOT mean you are committed to a tutoring contract. This is a time for each of us to ensure that your child and I are a good fit for each other.

• One-on-One Learning Sessions: Each session is tailored to your child's specific learning needs. I offer three flexible session lengths to fit your schedule:

  • 30-minute sessions: Focused, efficient support for younger learners or quick skill refreshers. (Recommended time for K students)

  • 45-minute sessions: Ideal for more in-depth learning without overwhelming your child. The extra 15 minutes allows the student and I to dive deeper into skills and apply those skills. (Recommended time for students in grades 1-3)

  • 60-minute sessions: Comprehensive, fully immersive sessions for students who need a longer time frame to grasp concepts. (Recommended time for students in grades 4-5)

  Every lesson is carefully designed based on ongoing assessments, ensuring that your child is making measurable progress. I use a variety of teaching strategies that are responsive to your child's learning style, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Subjects:

• K-5 Reading and Writing

• K-3 Math

• Proofreading Essays/ Papers

• National Board Support (Preparations, proofreading, lesson recording, support, etc.)

Session Times:

• Tutoring sessions are held between the hours of 8:30-3:00 Monday through Friday. Many students are exhausted from the school day and my goal is to make their sessions PART of their day. How can this work for your child?

  • You can excuse them for a small part of the day to receive outside services. The parent and I can work with the child’s teacher to a time that is least disruptive to their day and when they won’t miss their CORE subjects (Reading, Math, Writing, Science) You can pick them up from school and then bring them back after our session depending on the time of day.

    • Some examples: study hall, an intervention block, a support class, lunch, recess, etc.

  • Homeschool and Hybrid schools have more flexible days and times, therefore, I will work with your schedule.

Session Locations:

• AMK Tutoring Services will hold tutoring sessions at a local library, online, or another agreed upon location, however, in person is where I find the most success and connection with my students.

• Families who wish to have sessions held online will need to provide a device where they can see the screen and hear well. Phones are not idea for learning and will not be permitted for the session.

!! Summer Sessions !!

• Summer Sessions will be offered one day a week for a minimum of 45 minutes per day. Date will be determined by May 31. Summer Support will be on a first come first serve basis so call, text, or email now!
